Selection Process

The admissions to DA-IICT are based on All India Rank of AIEEE 2006 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2006). A limited number of seats are offered to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) through a separate channel called 'Direct Admission of Foreign and NRI Students' (DAFS).

Number of Seats

The intake for year 2006 was 240 students. Out of these, 228 seats were alloted on the basis of AIEEE rank , while the other seats were offered to NRIs through DAFS. In addition to these 240 seats, 36 additional seats were offered to Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin through DAFS.

The unfilled NRI seats, if any, are filled on the basis of AIEEE rank.

There is a 15% reservation for scheduled caste and 7.5% for scheduled tribes students.

Eligibility

The students are required to pass the 10+2 or equivalent.

Qualifying examinations:

  • The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
  • Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • First year Examination of a degree course of any recognized Indian University / Institute following a Higher Secondary Examination in the 10+1 system.
  • Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
  • H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Three- or four-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Fee Structure (for 2006 admissions)

Tuition fee Rs. 30,000 per Semester

Registration Fee Rs. 2,500 per Semester

Caution Deposit Rs. 8,000 (Refundable at the end of the Program)

Hostel Rent Rs. 6,000 per semester (Compulsory)

Food As per actual, as charged by the canteen/cafeteria.

(These expenses will be approximately Rs.1,500 per month)
