IIT - JEE - 2008

Offline Application

Starting from 2008, candidates will have an option for both online and offline application process. (Remember the online application process is not completely online, it still requires you send material via normal post). Below are the details of Application process.

Please check “Important Dates” for deadlines of application availability and receipt.

Standard (Offline) Application Process

Application form

  • Application forms (with Information Brochure) will be available at designated branches of Banks and all IITs.
  • The Application fee is Rs. 1000 for General Candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST and Female Candidates.
  • The Information Brochure will contain detailed information about filling the application form, Syllabus of JEE, examination centers, courses available at various institutions, counseling, fee structure, and other relevant information.

Acknowledgement Card

  • One printed acknowledgement card is enclosed with each application form.  Candidate should write the application number, name and complete postal address (capital letters with pin code) in the space provided.
  • Do not staple the Acknowledgement Card with the application form. Do not affix any postage stamp.
  • The institute that receives the completed application will post the Acknowledgement Card on receipt of the application. Discrepancies in the application, if any, will be indicated on the Acknowledgement Card at appropriate place.
  • No claim of submission of the application will be entertained unless the Acknowledgement Card supports it. No correspondence with regard to the application, eligibility, and Admit Card will be entertained unless the application number is quoted.
  • If the Acknowledgement Card does not reach the candidate by January 28, 2008, the candidate must check with the JEE Office, where the application was sent to.

10th Class or Equivalent Examination Pass Certificates

Enclose a duly attested copy of your 10th Class, or Equivalent Examination Pass Certificate along with the Application Form. Do not staple them with the Application Form.

Where and How to Send Your Completed Application Form

  • Duly completed Application Form should be refolded only along the original fold and inserted in the envelope supplied.
  • Do not staple or paste together the Application Form, the attested copy of the 10th Class Pass, or Equivalent Examination Certificate, and the Acknowledgement Card.
  • Please refer to Appendix-I in the information Brochure carefully to identify the appropriate institute to send the completed application.  It should be sent to the IIT located in the zone where the candidate wishes to appear for the examination (irrespective of the institute from where the application form is obtained).
  • The envelope containing the Application Form and the Acknowledgement Card must be sent by Registered Post/Speed Post only.  Candidates are advised not to send the application through any private courier service.  Completed application may also be submitted directly at the JEE office of the IIT concerned.
